Double-Deep Pallet Racking System

Double-Deep Pallet Racking is a specialized shelving system designed to maximize industrial warehouse racking space efficiency by storing pallets in two rows, one behind the other, instead of just one.

This configuration significantly increases storage density, offering nearly double the storage capacity of selective racking systems.

However, it reduces accessibility to the rear pallets and requires an extendable forklift with camera assistance to aid workers in handling pallets.

When Is Double Deep Racking Used?

Double-Deep Pallet Racking is used when there’s a higher volume of pallets per SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) and when a greater storage density is required compared to traditional industrial pallet racking systems.

Key Features
  • Clear Aisles: Provides ample space between aisles, ranging from 3 to 3.4 meters, for efficient forklift maneuverability and pallet retrieval.
  • Handling Equipment: Accessible by a wide range of material handling equipment, including Counterbalanced forklifts, Reach trucks, and order-picking machines, enhancing operational flexibility.
  • FILO System Support: Supports the FILO (First In, Last Out) system by storing pallets in two rows, with one pallet positioned behind the other, enabling easy access to pallets and optimizing stock rotation.
  • High Storage Utilization: Maximizes warehouse storage utilization with an efficiency rate of 85-90%.
